    @sugarcomatose All the folds need to stitched in place with invisible stitching, this is what I teach in the workshop. If you don’t stitch them in place, then they are eventually going to come? out and the hat will distort and grow. You also need to put a grosgrain headsize ribbon in the inside to protect the hat from sweat! Thanks for asking!

    @luvbyrd60 I use fur felt hoods because they’re so malleable and easy to work with but I’m going to transition over to wool felt because I’m? allergic to the rabbit fur in the fur felt hoods. Thanks for asking!

  7. JzMillinery says:

    You can order them from Leko Hats, ManHatCo, or World Hat Company. ?

  9. luvbyrd60 says:

  10. JzMillinery says:

    @bigclockface Sorry I don’t know that there’s anything you can? do to save it. It’s happened to me as well.

  11. bigclockface says:

    Fantastic tutorial, can I ask what happens if you use too much stiffener and it bleeds through can you do anything to save it/reuse the? felt?

    @gypsychela86
    You can use? a preformed felt hood to make a fedora with a short brim with this same technique. If you want a wide brim, then yes, you need to block two separate parts.

  13. gypsychela86 says:

    Pretty cool. I’d like? to make a fedora for my boyfriend. Any tips? It seems like you need to attach to separate pieces.
